"Fogos Fúnebres" is a mixed media installation shown as part of the group show "Three Birds, No Stone" (2022) located in Veerhaskade Warehouse, Den Haag, Nederlands. The work is a house-shaped wooden structure covered entirely in synthetic hair, emitting a constant flux of fog amidst a glowing orange light. As the viewer approaches the 'house' sounds of creaking wood and fire can be heard coming from inside.
As a result, all structural features that define the interior of the house become invisible; an abyss of smoke.
The work is the result of ongoing artistic research into the home as an extension of ourselves and stems from the question: if your home was on fire, what would you take with you?
